Penetrant testing (PT) is an important non-destructive testing (NDT) method and is taught and tested according to the internationally recognized standard DIN EN ISO 9712 at levels 1 and 2. It is aimed at specialists who want to reliably detect and evaluate surface defects in solid materials such as metals, plastics, or ceramics.
This training provides participants with a solid foundation in applying the testing procedure and enables them to detect fine and very fine surface defects such as cracks, pores, and bonding defects. This qualification is particularly valuable in safety-critical industries, as it ensures the structural integrity and safety of components.

- Introduction to the physical principles of penetrant testing
- Preparation and pre-cleaning of the test area to create an optimal testing environment
- Selection and application of penetrants as well as the penetration process itself
- Performing intermediate cleaning and drying in preparation for developer application
- Application and effect of the developer for visualizing ads
- Systematic inspection and logging of test results
Key content of the Level 2 training
- Advanced physical principles and deeper understanding of penetrant testing
- Selection and monitoring of testing equipment and facilities to ensure accurate and consistent results
- Detailed evaluation of the advertisements according to the specifications of relevant regulations.
- Object and defect knowledge in order to precisely identify and evaluate different types of defects.
- Training Level 1 + 2 : 6 days of intensive instruction and practical exercises
- Level 1 or 2 exam : 1 day to assess knowledge and practical skills
The training concludes with a certification confirming successful completion and competence in penetrant testing according to DIN EN ISO 9712. This certificate is recognized in many industrial sectors and represents a valuable additional qualification.
